How we Protect our Players
At XcitingGames, we consider it our duty to protect out players. Therefore we employ sophisticated controlling mechanisms for both poker and backgammon to detect unfair play and collusion. For poker we have implemented a collusion detection strategy. You can read more about it here. Likewise, we monitor every single backgammon game to detect foul play. Details about the backgammon monitoring may be found here.
Backgammon Dice
XcitingGames is a proud user of the best random number generator in the gaming industry: the SG100. The SG100 is manufactured by the Swedish company Protego and employed exclusively for backgammon. It is based on a hardware diode and therefore generates truly random dice. Not even precision dice can come close to the randomness generated by our random number generator. Because the SG100 generates truly random dice, it is absolutely impossible to predict rolls in advance. The dice are generated by the game servers and then sent to the clients. It is therefore impossible for players to modify them.
Statistical test concerning the randomness of the SG100 can be found at the SG100 website.
Poker Card Shuffling
Unlike the backgammon services, the XcitingGames poker services do not make use of the SG100. Instead, the ISAAC pseudo random number generator (PRNG) is employed. The name ISAAC is an acronym for Indirection, Shift, Accumulate, Add, and Count. It was designed by Bob Jenkins in 1996 and is considered cryptographically secure. To date, no known attacks have become known that affect the practical security of ISAAC. More information can be found on the official ISAAC website.
The card shuffling makes use of the random numbers generated by ISAAC. At XcitingGames we employ the Knuth shuffle algorithm. Unlike frequently alleged, this algorithm does not produce biased shuffles. The opposite is the case. In conjunction with a reliable random number source (such as ISAAC) the Knuth shuffle generates completely unbiased results. As you can see, at XcitingGames the card shuffling is world class.
