Hand Ranking
When the following criteria do not determine a single hand winner, the hand is a tie. In the case of a tie, the pot is split among all the players who have the same best hand.
High Hands (from best to worst)
Royal FlushFive cards of consecutive ranks and of the same suit, containing the Ace-King combination.
Straight FlushFive cards of consecutive ranks and of the same suit, not containing the Ace-King combination.
Four of a KindFour cards of the same rank and a side card. When two or more players have Four of a kind, the highest ranked Four of a kind wins the pot. When two or more players have Four of a kind of the same rank (only possible in Holdem and Omaha), the player with the highest side card wins the pot.
Full HouseThree cards of the same rank and a pair of another rank. When two or more players have a full house, the value of the triple rank decides. If it is the same, the value of the pair is decisive.
FlushFive cards of the same suit, but not of consecutive ranks. When two or more players have a flush, the highest card decides the winner. If the highest card is of the same rank, the second highest card decides and so on.
StraightFive cards of consecutive ranks, but not of the same suit. When two or more players have a straight, the player with the highest straight wins. The A is either high (in an AKQJT straight) or low (in a 5432A straight). So, 87654 loses to AKQJT but beats 5432A.
Three of a KindThree cards of the same rank and two side cards of different ranks. When two or more players have the same three of a kind (only possible in community card games like Holdem and Omaha), the player with the highest side card wins. If the highest side card is identical too, the second side card decides.
Two PairTwo pairs of two cards of the same rank and a side card of a different rank. When two or more players have two pair, the highest single pair decides the winner. If two or more players have the same highest pair, the player with the highest lower pair is the winner. When two or more players have the same two pair, the highest side card wins.
One PairTwo cards of the same rank and three side cards of different ranks. When two or more players have one pair, the higher pair decides the winner. If two or more players have the same pair, the highest side card decides the winner. If the highest side card is of the same rank, the second highest side card decides and so on.
High CardFive cards of different ranks, not consecutive and not of the same suit. When two or more players have a High Card hand, the highest card decides the winner. If the highest card is of the same rank, the second highest card decides and so on.
Low Hands (from best to worst)
It neither helps nor damages your Low hand if it is suited or a straight. For Low hands, suits and straights just don't matter at all.
5 High (Wheel)A, 2, 3, 4, 5
6 HighFive different ranks, 6 being the highest.
7 HighFive different ranks, 7 being the highest.
8 HighFive different ranks, 8 being the highest
